Jet lag and that Monday feeling...
6 Answers
For years, like many of us I am sure, I have suffered with that horrible feeling on a Monday morning and it didn't matter what I did, I would still feel awful all day Monday. I finally worked out though what it was, and found that if I kept my body clock 'aligned' (i.e. went to bed and got up at roughly the same time at the weekend to the week), then I wouldn't feel so bad, proving that it isn't just psychological! I am pleased that I have managed to realise this as it does help me get through work on a Monday!! However, sometimes it isn't always possible to go to bed and get up at the same time for each day of the weekend as if I go out or want a lie-in, this ruins that plan!
The symptoms I experience on a Monday are exactly the same as jet lag, and logically this would make sense. I have done various searches for ways to beat jet lag, but obviously all it comes up with is advice for people who are actually flying and going to be experiencing 'true' jet lag! I just wondered if anyone had any ideas to combat the effects of this 'jet lag', as I don't want to stop myself having a social life just for the sake of feeling well on a Monday. The symptoms I get though are very unpleasant and I can honestly say I feel ill on a Monday when this happens!!
