Is there a product to clean a washing machine, something similar to Finish dishwasher cleaner? Or is there another way to clean inside? Any suggestions appreciated.

Put a cup of white vinegar into the dispenser drawer and run it (empty) on a hot programme. This helps to get rid of limescale build-up and removes nasty smells from the drum. I usually do this once every 1-2 months.

There is a product called Calgon it's in tablet form and is to prevent limescale buildup. I bought some in Asda, but it was a long time ago. Freshens the machine.

Many thanks for the replies. I know this might sound stupid but how much is a cup? Is it about half pint or a little teacup? I have some white pickling vinegar ( says on the bottle that its stronger the the usual) would that do the trick?

lime lite tablets are good, put 2 in your drum and put on a normal cycle, very easy but very good

I use a teacup which holds about 6 fluid oz. I'm not sure whether pickling vinegar would do the job just as well as normal white vinegar.

Everytime when doing your washing put a handful of soda crystals in with the wash, softens the water cleans limescale and makes the washing really clean.
