How high does steam rise

If one should boil water on top of a gas cooker, in a saucepan with the lid of , how high would the steam rise .
The reason for asking is we have an extract fan fitted in the kitchen our bungalow ,the ceiling in the kitchen is approx 7ft 6 ins high .The fan is fitted on the ceiling above the cooker .

Seriously tho', steam is water droplets which rapidly become vaporised provided the surrounding air is dry enough - but of course the air becomes "damper" as a result which gives rise to problems of condensation/mould etc. Your extractor fan above the saucepan will draw this damp air out, whether it is still steam or has become (invisible) vapour.
