I have a gold sovereign.
My nan gave me, among other things, a beautiful embroidered postcard from my grandad back while he was away at war. I never met my grandad, either of them in fact as they both died before I was born.
It has a beautiful message from him on it and I handed it back to my mum after my nan died as I feel that it is more important for her to have it for now. I'm sure it will find its way back to me one day.

I've got a rather intriguing jewellery box my grandfather bought for his mother when he was out in Hong Kong in the 50s (my mother was born there in '58). My great grandmother died in the early 80's and for as long as I could remember, I was fascinated with this jewellery box and all its hidden compartments. When my grandfather died in 2006, my nan gave it to me. She also has a beautifully hand-carved camphor wood chest that she has promised to me. But the thing I've owned for the longest time is probably the sapphire and diamond ring Tony bought me for my 20th birthday. I have a sapphire missing and need to get it replaced.
