Not to worry...it sounds as though your boyfriend has a boil in his ear (furuncle) very painful and may take another 3 or 4 days to settle. Don't worry about the change in colour of the discharge, it is of no particular significance. If your GP is interested, perhaps a dressing of antibiotic drops in the ear would speed things up.

Just an update, he went to the doctors again this morning as he still can't hear out of his ear and has a sore throat now too. Apparantly its a viral infection that is doing the rounds and is highly infectious...hope I don't end up with it!
