A Timely Statement?

Many years ago I bought a plate at a jumble sale for the words written on it.
As we near the General Election I thought these words might ring bells with some of us?

"We the willing
led by the unknowing,
are doing the impossible,
for the ungrateful.
We have done so much
for so long
with so little,
we are now qualified
to do anything,
with nothing."


BTW,does anyone know WHO wrote this?
