Are there any Elm trees left in Britain? What happened to Dutch Elm Disease? Could we bring in Elm trees from another country, or would they die too?

Elm trees are rare in the UK since the Dutch Elm disease decimation (more than 20 million trees have fallen victim since the 1970s). Apparently there are genetically modified Elms that are resistant: http://www.biodundee.co.uk/news_article.asp?ID=11
