If she has Outlook Express, or has Microsoft Office installed - so she can use Outlook (the products are similar by name, but are different). These email clients can be setup to both send and recieve email from the BT internet service provider.
Speak with BT Broadband tech support to get their servers POP and SMTP addresses. They should also explain how to setup Outlook Express and/or Outlook.
I'm with BT Broadband and have done this. Bear with me, it's easy but not quick.
Go to www.bt.com/btbroadbandstart and near the top, it has a link called "Sign up to BT Yahoo! Mail for no extra cost". When you click that, you get a page letting you choose the type of mail package you want, choose the middle one, "BT Yahoo! Basic Mail". Click through the pages giving all the account information etc. and choose your username. Don't forget to write down your username and the password you choose.
When your finished all that, start up Outlook Express, it should be on your desktop (it'll definitely be in Start... Programs...). Click Tools.... Accounts. Click the Add button on the top right and choose Mail.... Enter your name then click next, enter your email address which is the username you chose earlier followed by @btinternet.com. On the next page, your incoming mail server is a POP3 server, the incoming mail server is pop.btinternet.com and the outgoing mail server is smtp.btinternet.com. On the next page, enter your username & password. Don't worry about the other checkbox. Click next then click finish. Then you should be able to send & receive emails.
If not (or if you're using Outlook and not Outlook Express), let us know.
