hi i am 25 and live with mother who was the victim,i suffer from chronic anxiety and social phobia and im medicated for that,for the last 3 yrs my alcohol intake has spiralled out of control and i have had a lot of personal problems (younger sister sectioned for since jan 2008 for schizophrenia)etc... on saturday 3rd april,i went to see a friend and had quite a lot to drink,i live with my mam,i came home and bought my mother and myself some lager. i offered her some but basically one can was left i hid it down side of sofa. she realised came over to grab it and i was texting my friend and on impulse pushed her back my phone cutting the side of her eye brow.i panicked and told her i had cut her but she was angry and wouldnt speak to me.i went to bed to prevent further arguements,in that time mam rang police and shes since admitted she was so mad she made things look 50 times worse to police.i was dragged out of bed half asleep,took to cells and was kept in until monday morn for court.i was released on monday on bail.my solicitor told me to plea not guilty as it was accident.in cells i engaged with turning point had 2 half hour session and the worker was very impressed and has all the faith i can work to sort my life out with them.i returned to court today...for a trial date,my mother has given me a letter saying she does not want to proceed with action against me,realises it was an accident and was totally out of character,she just wants me to get some help.prosecution got a photocopy of it today.solicitor was a substitute and was more interested eyeing women up in skirts while i was trying to explain things.what can my mam do to try and prevent me getting convicted.in the cells i was panicking and the officers were woried called doctor in and i was given 3x 10mg diazepam.it was hell.i was last at court for shoplifting in youth court when i was 18, in 2003.i have had no violent arrests or convictions. i cant sleep and from now until june im going to be so scared.help

Hi. With your mother writing the letter to the CPS, they will offer 'no evidence', and you will be formally released. First of all worrying solves nothing and in your case you have nothing to worry about, because without your mothers testimony there is no case for you to answer. I am more concerned about your behaviour and level of drinking. If you had not drunk so much this case would never have happenend.
