I'd like to do a degree in HR (Human Resources) but I have no idea which Access Course to do to get on to it?
I don't have A Levels so I need to do an Access to Higher Education course first. But what on earth would a person wanting to study HR Management need to do?

CIPD qualifications are nationally recognised and everyone in our HR department either has one of these or is working towards it.

London College of Management Studies offer courses at various levels, right up to MBA level.

Phone your local colleges and universities. London College of Mangement studies is a private college. I don't know it so I can't comment on it. I've worked in few private colleges (courses accredited by British universities). I was never impressed by their standards...they seemmed mostly concerned with taking a lot of money from overseas students (who still see "British" as a quality standard). Of course, I'm saying nothing about LCMS because I've never heard of it.
Try this:
http://www.accesstohe.ac.uk/
Look at the university linked to the Access course. Some are better than others!!.
Check here:
http://extras.timeson...oduniversityguide.php
(You may find that on Access entry the top 50 listed will not jump to offer a place so look at the better ones below that. Sorry if that sounds snobby; I studied and worked below the top 50!)
(.ac.uk usually means linked to a recognised academic institution. AVOID just ".ac" without the "uk". Just ".ac" means Ascension Island, miles from anywhere in the Atlantic!

This post directs you towards relevant information but (because the UCAS website creates pages which 'time out') I can't post direct links. So here's what you need to do:
Start here:
http://www.ucas.ac.uk...esearch/2010searcheu/
Click 'Search by subject'
Click 'h'
Click 'Human'
Click 'Human Resource Management' (or you could try 'Human Resource Administration' - if you're not sure which one, do two separate searches).
Click on an institution/course which interests you.
Then click 'Entry requirements'
You might then need to click on one or more additional links, such as 'Course specific requirements'
Some universities provide much more information than others but, by trying several different links, you should get an idea of what universities are usually looking for.
