tempory deafness on a plane

i aint neva been on a plane b4 but if i get tempory deafness how soon will it b b4 my hearin goes back to normal and is ear popping on a plane anything to worry about coz i am worryin about it

i wouldnt worry about your ears popping to much anytime im on a plane they pop but within a few minutes they are ffine again.

There should be no reason for "deafness"... todays aircraft are almost as quiet as your living room (of course I don't know how noisy your living room is).  Unless you have a head cold or allergy that is causing congestion in your sinuses, you should experience no discomfort.  Try chewing some gum to alleviate the slight difference in pressure that can cause a sudden "popping" (more of a small snap actually) when the pressures equalize.  You have a small tube that runs from each ear to the back of the throat through which drainage normally occurs.  If this becomes blocked, try holding your nose and swallowing.  Don't blow however, that will only cause more blockage since the natural drainage is down into the throat. Chewing gum during ascent and descent of the plane should stop your ears from popping.
