i have posted a few times previously about what i thought was tinnitus, i didnt mention that a week prior to this occuring, i had an upper right wisdom tooth removed and have now seriously considered thinking that the symptom and extraction are related, as i have never really worked in a noisy environment and rarely use an mp3 player then i cant see this being noise related, my tooth(the one next to wisdom that was removed) has become really sensitive to warm food and drink over the past couple of days and i noticed to my shock that the high frequency noise i can hear increases whenever i lightly press that tooth and even when i press any part of my face!!! its not like a ringing noise its more like a high pithced noise that seems to radiate.
i have now taken 2 weeks worth of 2 seperate antibiotics and nasonex nasal spray, i explained to my wife a few weeks back that the noise seems to sound like a broken nerve firing high pitched signals, is it possible to hear nerve damage?? are the nerves on upper jaw close to the eardrum??
i have an appointment with my dentist tomorrow but i dont want her to fob me off because i havent had much sleep in over a month and am becoming quite anxious now
jdh
It is well documented in medical literature that there is a direct relationship between wisdom tooth extraction and the onset of tinnitus. The reason is rather more debatable, but most experts believe that it is due to nerve damage at the time of operation.
