R4 cards for Nintendo Ds

Does anyone know if games downloaded to R4 cards have a time limit on them. 6 people received them for xmas and they have all stopped working today. The person who gave them as presents pre-loaded games on to them all. The message on the screen says "System Date Error" check the date on your DS system.
All dates are correct. Thanks for any info.

Dont think you will get much help on here about R4's as they are illegal.....

thanks toyou both, I had never heard of them until I received one and did not know they were illegal. Problem now resolved with a change of date.
