Technology review and specification site?

Is there a good go to site for all general technological products like cameras, camcorders, tvs etc. which would also hold archive reviews and specifications. I am currently trying to get a mini dv tape camcorder from ebay but am finding it difficult to find out if certain camcorders take tapes as it is not always mentioned and some which are called mini dv do not appear to accept tapes. If there was a site I could use to check it would be a great help.
