Help required to prove last two:-

1) Unable to see loss of left tie(4) ?Y?D.....Is it DYED or EYED?

2) Stout fellow is deadly(5) ?A?A?.....Is it FATAL, if so why?

2. yes, fatal - fat (stout) + Al (fellow's name)

Answer is Bind
Unable to see= Blind
Loss of Left = L
Take L from Blind and you get Bind

Thanks very much for your replies. Fatal was okay but I see that I was on the wrong track for the other, and I'll go for BLIND.( The reason I had Y instead of I was that I couldn't spell BLAMEWORTHINESS!)
