Renault Laguna - the bane of my life

The latest disaster in the history of my Laguna is as follows :-
When putting air into the tyre the valve snapped off. I put the spare on and took the tyre to the local tyre shop and had a new valve fitted. The problem is that the old valve had a pressure sensor on it - they cost a staggering �150 to replace. The onboard computer (which I christened HAL cos its always telling me something is about to break) now constantly alerts me to the fact that the tyre pressures are incorrect. Someone mentioned that it is possible to turn off that part of the system that monitors the tyre pressure does anyone know where I might find out more about this.
For the avoidance of doubt I mean disabling that part of the computer system that monitors tyre pressure so that the alert does not show on the dashboard

i would think it could only be done on the computer at a renault garage.

Hi,

You were really ripped off by the garage you went to, Renault dealers charge �67.00 for supplying and fitting a sensor and then programming the sensor to your dash display.

Renault can turn off the tyre pressure sensor but it is cheaper to get it working properly, I have this system on my Laguna and it has worked perfectly but I do think it is an unnecessary gimmick.

Probably a bit late now but we only charge £25.00 for Renault sensors on our website.
We also sell all the tools to trigger the sensors too ( more aimed at the actual garages I know) but we can provide you with original equipment sensors and then just get the garage to fit and trigger them for you.
Probably work out cheaper than buying the sensors directly from the garage with a big mark up on them.
