Might be one of your fuel lines, have a quick look underneath the car for any leaks, is your petrol cap on properly?

Thanks for the quick response Bob69.The petrol cap is on perperly and I can't see any leaks or drips underneath the car.
Hi, check the area around the Fuel Injectors.
Is the fuel filter "in line" underneath? .. or in the tank? Been serviced recently?
In common with many Vauxhalls, you'll probably find the fuel filter "cannister" is underneath, just in front of the rear wheel on the same side as the fuel filler cap. These corrode, rust through, leak and give the smell of petrol before failing and leaving a trail of fuel behind you. Not expensive to replace (<£10), but you need a special tool to get the connections off (About £15 on it's own!). Your local garage is better bet than a rip-off dealer.

Thank you guys. All your suggestions have been very helpful. The area around the injectors seems fine. The smell seems to be coming from the back end which seems that its likely to be the fuel filter.I will pop into my local garage asap.
