I have been having no end of trouble getting my avatar to be recognised as it seems that for some
unexplained reason my email address has been changed (not by me I add) in my profile
I have emailed the techie team as follows:
Could you please explain to me why in my profile as "sprayer" my email address was changed (not by me)
to (email address)-11311 this is the reason apparently that has stopped my avatar from working,
after asking why the Ed said the solution was simple, just go to my profile and correct the email address
check the avatar box and click submit, all of this I have done but all that happens is a message is displayed
saying "Cannot update" Why not? what is the point of having an update profile page if it does not work?

To this the reply came open a new email account with either Google or Yahoo etc. THEN go to
my profile and change to the new email address which I have done and on clicking "submit"
the same thing happens a message is displayed saying "Couldn't update"
Can you please sort this out Ed. as I have emailed the tech team back but they have not bothered
to reply as yet.

Once upon a time (before my time actually) we allowed users to share email addresses.
We cannot do this anymore, it allows for easy abuse of the system.
This is why we have asked you to supply a unique email address.
Please send us an email containing your new unique address and we will try and sort this out for you.
Remember, the email address in Gravatar and AB have to match.
You will not have to wait 14 days for a new avatar as you are already a member. Only NEW AB members need to wait 14 days. OLD AB members can simply change thier email addresses.

Have you by any chance changed your server? I had this problem last night, and on checking I discovered that my profile in AB was still registered in a redundant email address changed to my new one and my avatar clicked in straight away, also if you are having trouble with a username in gravitas it doesn't really matter as it is your email address that counts and your avatar will come up on AB in your AB username
