Moving lilys

My wife wants to move some lilies which are about 4-5 inches high and in pots out into the garden, and would like to know if anyone has done this before safely? I don`t want to take the resposibility if she loses them, so I can live the rest of my days peacefully, I can blame you if things go wrong.

I think it should be fine, as long as you leave lots of their compost around them, but personally, I'd wait a while until no risk of frost, you don't say what type of lily? but I wouldn't move anything while there is a risk of frost..........................

I've moved lillies no problem. As long as the tuber is in one piece it's OK.

I would be very careful about leaving them in the garden. I started off with just a few plants years ago and now I re-pot 100's every year. The bulb or tuber is very prone to attack left in the garden, so therefore I just do lots of tubs, changing the the compost every year and starting all the new growth in pots ready for next year.
