lump on back of neck

i will go to drs, but given my anxiety disorder, it would save a couple of sleepless nights if anyone can help.
I've just found a hard painless lump, about as big as alarge pea. It's on the back of my neck slighty on one side, just on the hairline.
Any ideas?

for me, well im used to lumps and bumps all over my body (luckily not on my face)- i was born with a genetic disorder called neurofibromatosis and have plexiforma on one side of my arm, very depressing.. wish i had a normal body, cant wear sleeveless tops as people would stare. :'(

sqad, fortunately everything is normal, even my eye sight is better than my sis despite i have couple lumps behide one of my eye. the consultant are keeping an eye on my though esp the head region, had two mri scans and they have found a few lumps in my head etc. my hearing is fine,
