because I'm rubbish at typing and have to look at the keyboard - I have just typed a massive passage of my NVQ in capitals! (I'm always doing it!)

Is there sneaky way to change them to lower case or will I have to type it all again??

I would appreciate as many people as possible answering.
Crisgal, it depends if you are working in Word and what version of it - the instructions will be different for different versions. Click on the help button on your toolbar and type in "amend to lower case" and it will talk you through how to do it. It can certainly be done!
In Word, if you select the required text then hold down <shift> and press F3. This should cycle through the capitalisation options.
in my version of Word you highlight the offending passage and then go to Format then Change Case and select the necessary
Thanks for that hint scotsman, I'm a mouse person so any news hints for how to do short-cut on the keyboard are always appreciated!

Any text file in Windows can be converted using a Visual Basic script to open the file, read it line by line and convert to any capatilisation sytem that you can describe. You just have to know how to write the script.

Indeed the Windows Operating System itself can be controlled and operated by Visual Basic script. With MS Office Suite includes an even more powerful version of Visual Basic called Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). This language is used to write macros.
