help on a black background

the system is a microsft 2000 i scan a foto with adobe, save it , open it up again (jpeg) it opens up with micro photo editor with a shi... oops horrible grey background how can i change it that it opens up on a black background.. thankyous... ps some can be seen under www.artfully-yours.com if any1's interested.

I'm not sure whether this is what you are after but try: right clicking the desktop and selecting Properties, under Appearance go to the Item list where you can scroll down and select Application Background then change the colour to black. Nice photies BTW.
