You must be joking. It's, like ... 26 miles !

Only joking. A couple of us on here did the Brighton last week. That was enough.

So, good luck with it campbellking.

Don't forget to wear your "AB" tee shirt, and wave at the cameras.

Good luck, campbellking. Is it your first marathon? I ran(????) it in 1996. It was really hot for the time of year, and I must admit I struggled to finish in 5 hours, 17 mins. Liz McColgan was crossing the finishing line as I was passing Cutty Sark. Good luck to everyone.

Did London in 1992 (did a bit of walking towards the end and finished in 4hrs 58 ). Went back for a bit more torture in New York in 2006 (my idea of celebrating being 40) and got round in 4hrs 18 (did a bit more training that time). Have no idea what I'll manage this time, have sore hip from running into a gate the other week (whilst sober). Managed a 20 mile race in 3 hours last month, but training very up and down since then. Am trying to beat Stamford the Lion (Chelsea's mascot) and get to the Bridge in time for kick-off .
Thanks for your support. Will be wearing a blue 'winston's wish vest, number 14745 and my proper name on the old shirt. Would really like the weather forecast to be a little kinder.
I'm running the Belfast Marathon on May Day, I'd love to run the London marathon one day!

Good Luck :)
Yes I am but I'm regretting it already as I did the Brighton Marathon last Sunday and the old bones are still aching. This'll be my 3rd and definitely LAST London Marathon. I did the 1st one in 1986 so I think it's time to give it up before it gives me up !! Good luck to campbellking.
Have done London twice, last year & 2007 and I have to say it was the most fantastic experience & I'm sure that watching it on Sunday will get me digging out the trainers again! Enjoy the day & take in as much as you can!
Good luck to everyone taking part as I think it's a great occasion..............one of the few televised events I watch from start to finish. I think all the characters taking part make it really special.

Thank-you for all your support. Belfast marathon sounds like fun, Brighton marathon got rave reviews last week. Will endeavour to enjoy the party and eat lots of jelly babies.
Did it in 1983 and every year till 1989. I ran every year for cancer research and raised a fair bit. It's a great day wether you're a serious runner (which I was) or a fun runner. The first year I ran I wanted to do it in under 3 hours (I was a club runner) I did it in 3 hours and 5 minutes. I was distraught lol. I bettered that in 1985 (2 hrs 45 mins) Due to an ankle injury i never did it again (although i could still make it round in a decent time) just like to say good luck to everyone taking part and enjoy the day, you won't get many better.
Good luck to all ABers taking part.
bursts your heart to see the para's.....they're such an inspiration to lazy s o d s like me.

Is that Paula Radcliffe, (leading the women athletes), with naval piercing .....a mum - wow; terrific body & best conformation. She's wearing nix - at the ready ;)
