Closing a bank account

I have a current account with Alliance & Leicester which I want to close down. I guess I will need to put this request in writing to them but where shall I send it to and to whom should I address the letter?

I would suggest you conatct your local branch either in person or by phone and ask them.
If you have an online account I undertsand you can withdraw most of the money but will need to phone them to clse the account fully.
