Changing a "WAV" into another sound file
3 Answers
Out of normal working hours I do some freelance audio transcribing (yup you'd never guess from the typos I make on AB huh - but my typing for acurro is okay honest!!!) Anyway sometimes they send me the sound bite via "wav". I hate this as I then can't use the pause / rewind / stop etc buttons on my Olympus DS 500 transcription machine. Which means it takes me FOREVER to type a letter. Do you know how I can convert this? Most of the files come via a "DSS sound bite which is fine. (I am not very technical).
PS - I f anyone can help it's be appreciated. I am off to work again now till much l;ater this evening so if I don't reply to your answers today I will tomorrow.
Thanks in advance

Probably you could try all the different sound formats to see which suits you the best?? It does MP3, WMA, FLAC, AAC, MMF, AMR, M4A, M4R, OGG, MP2, WAV & Wavepack.
There is also a site, "www.zamzar.com", which seems to convert anything to anything else. Maybe they could assist???

Hi evedawn,
I use a product called expstudio which you can download free from http://www.expstudio.com/download.html. It's a simple as pie and will convert from pretty much anything to pretty much anything, and has editing capabilities, so that you can just snip a short section and convert that if you like.
