MP3 players

This may sound daft but if I download MP3 files and I wish to play them away from my pc will an MP3 player do this? And How?

Just connect the mp3 player to your PC (usually via USB or Firewire if it is the iPod) and copy the mp3s over. You will be able to play the mp3s as if they were CD tracks. The mp3 player is like a hard drive with a sound card attached and a microprocessor to do all the conversions.
