I think Tony Blair's pay is totally justifiable and I wouldn't complain if he was earning 200,000. The man has the toughest job in Britain, he works 14 hour days often seven days a week and his current salary is still tiny compared to most of the other powerful people who make up this country's workforce.
It's not really a pay rise - just that last time he rejected part of his salary, now he is accepting it. Perfectly justified I think, such an amount means nothing to the country and he doesn't exactly have an *easy* job!
It's hardly a shining example, is it? He's tight enough with the minimum wage and pensions, perhaps he should continue to exercise a little contraint himself.
