Why do i hear a rattling sound under the steering wheel when im driving, its bad on bumpy road, and cant hear it on smooth surface. it sounds as if something is loose and going to fall off, but mechanic said its nothing

Probably the steering column plastic bushes rattling a bit .. which is a nuisance, and probably a design fault .. but nothing to worry about.
