I have a water filter jug at home but rather than changing the filter once a month I change it once every 2 months to save money. I cant tell the difference in taste to be honest.
Is there a reason for having to change the filter once a month? Is it because after this time it doesnt filter water as thoroughly?
It really depends on how much water you put through it, rather than a time period.
We have really hard water, and the kettle stops furring up when the Brita filter is changed. It is back to full chalkiness after about three and a half weeks.
Where do you live, panic? We are on the Downs so all chalk, but SO FAR (and the filer jug is yonks years old) the kettle is pretty fur-free. I can't get away with not using Calgon in the washing machine either.
I thought about getting a filter on my incoming water system - it comes from elsewhere in Kent but everything furrs up given half the chance. My old boiler was a sight to behold!
