Does anyone out there remember a childrens radio programme that used to be on in the 1960's. We used to listen to it in school every week and we would learn a song, with the songbook infront of us from the show. It is driving me mad, it was some school's radio thing, and at the end of the run all the schools used to vote for their favourite song. Help anyone!!!!!!!!!

I was at school in the early 70s, and we used to listen to "Singing Together" which was very much like the programme you described, I can still remember some of the songs! At the end of term the teachers would give out the song booklets, and they were very treasured possessions.

Have to back nearly 50 years, around 1959 but can remember a radio broadcast for schools which involved singing, the name of the show I cant remember. One song which two lines have stuck in my mind was a not very politically correct song but went along these lines

"Wid de one eye on the pot"

"And the other up de chimmney"

Sorry cant help anymore

Yes sweepy,as the others have said,it was "singing together".Oh the memories! I always remember one song called "my normandy",and that was from the 60s.
