I have seen some really pretty small flowers in our local council's flowerbeds around town. They look a bit like forget me nots, but they are in blue, pink and also white. They are in flower now. I would really like to get some for next year. Any clever gardeners able to suggest what they might be please?

They could be aubretias but could they also not be forget-me-nots which do come in other colours?

Thank you, Prudie. I didn't know for sure that forget me nots came in any other colour than blue. I am going to the garden centre this week, so will have a look at aubretia too.
They could also be Lobelia, as they come in a variety of colours.
Forgetmenots are in small clusters of roundish flowers, and the leaves are slightly rough.

Here are lobelia

Both are pretty and easy to cultivate, forgetmenot self seeds, I have it all over the place in unexpected crannies this spring!

Thanks, all. I have lobelia sometimes in the garden in summer, is there a hardy version then, that you can plant in autumn to flower in spring? It was the fact that there were three colours of this flower that caught my eye.
I think it's a bit too early for lobelia but you've got us all interested now. Good luck at the garden centre and report back!
I have pink, white and blue forgetmenots, because of recessive/dominant genes the ratio varies year to year some years I only get blue this year deep blue and light blue as well as pink/white. Visitors ask what they are because most of them have assumed forget me nots only come in forgetmenot blue. Lobelia flowers are completely different however there are a number of anchusas, and small flowered pulmonarias that might be worth eliminating from your search

Oh, wow, Rowan witch, how can I get them??
Forget me not,s will grow almost anywhere and they self seed . Good ground cover too.Lobellia you half covering walls. The first flower are usually blue but you can get pink.Lobelias are good for hanging baskets....they are blue and also white.
Thompson and morgan do a blue/pink white forgetmenot seed mix called bobo its also worth saving seed from anywhere you see with mixed colours although they will probably all be blue the first year as blue seems to be dominant.
Hi

I think you must be referring to Pulmonaria Officinalis (Lungwort)
Hairy mottley leaf (sometimes white spots on them)

Can also be obtained in white

Leaves are quite like forget-me-nots, but larger.
