Mini Cooper S

I am in the market for a new car and quite like the new Mini, my only question is how people regard this car?

Is it seen as a girl's car, Boy racer car, or anything else?

Fantastic little cars, beautifully built and great to drive. The Cooper S is a real pocket rocket. For me the only downsides are that is should never have been called a mini, it has nothing in common with the original, (please dont buy one with a union jack on the roof!) and the rather high prices they command. As for its image, as a 40somthing male I would happily be seen in a Cooper S, providing it was in a nice sober colour.

I think they are very expensive for what they are. Even the 'cheap' ones are around �11K new, which is the same as some 4 door saloons. Aren't the 'flash' ones (Cooper etc) around �20K? Seems a lot for a smallish car selling on the back of a previous cars reputation.

Being developed, made and marketed by BMW they are are over priced but well constructed.  Yes you can get a decent supermini for a lot less but if you like the look then it's your money and your choice.  Not seen as a girly or boy racer's car.

I have a cooper and i love it!  Its a solid little car, nippy and handles like a dream.  And Mr larakitten and I fight over who gets to drive it.........!
