Co star d
Question Author
thank you

not impressed with the clue. Why is Big Apple in Capitals?
Because Big Apple = New York.
Question Author
but what's that to do with the clue
Costard is also an archaic term for apple, or metaphorically a man's head. Richard III.
Oh I see.... a costard is an apple used in Richard III and metaphorically means a mand head in New york?

This is obviously a typographical error whereby 'Big Apple' should not have been in capitalised. Someone should write to Hugh stevenson and get this compiler off the books!! Rubbish crossword
It's a cryptic crossword - using the capitals is merely misdirection. I enjoyed this one.

Chambers a large kind of apple ; the human head
I have less of a problem with Big Apple now, but more with Fellow Actor and director which is I think is a poor clue An actor is not necessaarily a star and the use of single letters is just irritating
fellow actor = co-star
director = d is a common abbreviation
But I have touchline (anagram)_ for 9 across! which puts T first! so what now?
sorry - wrong clue!!!
Costard it is. nice one.
