do you know if you still can get jam sandwich biscuits, i think it was jacobs or burtons who made them.

That sounds like Jammy Dodgers, still available at all good biscuit shops!

or the alternative, although nothing beats jammie dodgers, is jam sandwich biscuits which have jam AND cream filling.
