I am doing Sunday lunch tomorrow for my family and my BFs. We are only having cold cuts and salad. I am completely out of ideas for a dessert - most people will eat anything, apart from my dad who basically likes apple pie/crumble and strawberries. Last time I did apple crumble and strawberry pavlova so I'd like to do something different.

I was going to make a strawberry flan, but appear to have mislaid my flan ring in one of my many moves, so that's out. It has to be something that doesn't require any complicated ingredients because I have already had two glasses of wine and so can't drive to the shops (although could walk to the corner shop). I've got strawberries, lemons, limes, cream, milk, creme fraiche, cooking apples, eggs, ingredients for pastry, and the normal stock cupboard stuff (arrowroot, gelatine, caster sugar, flour etc) and I want a choice of two desserts. Does anyone have any fabby easy ideas, please?

TIA.

Trifle

lol Razza - Dad loves trifle, but ONLY my mum's trifle. The only time I tried he didn't like it so I never bothered again.

Thank you Mercia. I was hoping you might pop in. Your suggestions have given me just the inspiration I need. I am not quite doing exactly what you suggested - going to do white chocolate and strawberry mousse and caramelised apple tart. Fantastic thanks!
make Eton Mess - strawberries, meringues, cream, all swirled together, and a bit of mint on the top. I don't have a recipe but I'm sure someone else will - and it looks like you have all the ingredients!

I did think about that boxtops, but I did strawberry pavlova last time. the time before it was eton mess, cos I dropped the bloody meringue!!!!!!
eton mess, boxtops got there first!!! but don't put it together too soon else the cream and strawberry juices dissolve the meringue. But reading your reply . . . . i thought about strawberry cheesecake, thats simple and some recipes don't even require you to use the oven, only the hob to melt the butter.
