can i return a laptop ?
5 Answers
purchased a laptop in November. I was told that my existing Canon scanner and printer would work with it. turns out Canon havent made a windows 7 driver for them. I have spent since november trying to resolve the problem with forums, canon and sony .. to no avail .. so i cant print or scan without buying a new printer or scanner.
Where do i stand ?
TIA

You may have a leg to stand on if it states on the packaging or leaflets that it will work with said printer/scanner but at the same time, it has taken so long to return the item I am pretty sure you will get turned away. Sorry =)
If you explicitly stated that you wanted a laptop that would work with your exisitng scanner and printer, gave details of the models and were told they would work with the laptop you bought, you bought the laptop in reliance on the statement made by the salesman. If these comments are erroneous, you are entitled to return the item as it is not fit for the purpose you specified. However you may find it difficult to prove this and you will be asked to justify why it has taken you 6 months to return the item - I think this is too long to be considered reasonable under these circumstances I'm afraid.
driver for the printer, which has been on the site since october last year (32bit only, but you've not said if you need a 32bit or 64bit driver)

The scanner is listed as being incompatible, but a quick read of some forums seems to suggest it will work with the canoscan software and the vista drivers (again 32bit only)
