A home remedy would be to put on a little rubbing alcohol... there are, of course, many commercial products...

Try Calamine Lotion, great for chickenpox too!  Can get it over the counter, very cool on the skin and brings relief if used regularly.

Eurax cream or lotion .Brilliant .Or as above good old calamine.
My mother swore by Cider Vinegar dabbed on. Also dont scratch, slap when they itch.
put saliva on them. strange, but it works. kind of makes sense, the saliva may contain some kind of soothing agent.

hi funkychicken, what about anti histamine tablets from Boots? one a day, cheap as chips and it does the job. Sorted!
Boots also do a good cream which you just rub on - it worked fine with a mozzie bite I had.
When I was on holiday in Turkey couple years ago,I was eaten alive by mossies.I was itching like a scabby dog,an old Turkish chap showed told me this,it sounds brutal but it really works.Hold a ciggarette as close to the bite as you can,it draws the poison out -trust me it works.
