Well it's not Peter Rabbit ..Boo! He was a hundred in 2002.
Have to have another think.Perhaps it was the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland.

Nope.That was published in 1865.Although Lewis Caroll died in 1898.Why am I bothering with this at this time of the night!!!!

Wooaahhh! Hang on a sec - rewind! How can Bugs Bunny have been created in 1898? There weren't any animated cartoons in 1898 for starters!

According to wikipedia, his first appearance was in the cartoon short, Porky's Hare Hunt, in 1938. So 1998 would have been his 60th birthday, not his 100th. Wikipedia is not always 100% accurate, but I doubt they're out by 40 years.

I'm afraid it looks as though the search for pelican's rabbit continues.

How about Peter or Brer Rabbit... Brer was published 1902 but was around in 1898. Could he be the rabbit I'm looking for?
