Ashes to Ashes continuity? (spoilers for anyone who didn't see last weeks episode)

So Viv got deaded right? What I don't get was I swear he was chief of police in one of the previous episodes (in the present/ future) Was I dreaming this? If not can anyone tell me what episode and season?

IIRC It was in the Sam Tyler stories and it wasn't Viv. It was a young black copper who Sam knew as Chief of police in his future life and who he met as a plod in Manchester

Does any one else theink that that investigator man (Jim) is the devil?

I still think that Jim is Sam coming to reconcile whatever went on with Sam's death. There's also something going on with the others and the night sky scenes

i love this programme but finding some bits hard to follow i really want to watch life onmars from beginning again then follow on woith ashes to ashes but think i wouldnt be able to sit still that long lol i wonder if life on mars is gonna be shown again any one know ??

Don't think the guy who said he was Sam Tyler is, just a red herring. I have heard through the grapevine that John Simm who plays Sam makes an appearance in the last one.
