My friend called to see me yesterday and was telling me about it, her OH works in Dubai so I downloaded it and..Hey-ho, we were talking to him, he was in his luxury apartment on the Marina in Dubai...looked fab too, then I typed my niece's name in who lives in Wales, not knowing she is at her Turkish villa for 3 months, and there she was through a video link, what was even better for me, my eldest sister who lives in NZ who I have had no response from, I was able to ask my niece how she was and sadly, she has Alzheimer's now.
All this for free, now that can't be bad, can it?

Yeah it's good but I've only spoke to a few people on skype.

I think it's good to keep in touch with people who you don't see very often ummm
Its great Bobbi, I have 2 daughters in OZ and 1 in Hong Kong and chat all the time when the hours suit.
Another brilliant thing that you can do is this.
If you have problems with your PC and your not a comp whiz kid but you know somebody who is on skype, you can transfer your PC over to them to try and fix the problems, if that makes sense.
I'm a bit crap like that. I only contact people for a reason. Most people contact me....lol. They all know what I'm like though. I do get a few texts asking if I'm cooking dinner and will there be enough for them.
Like remote browsing?

hello trt, yes it is a great thing with families living away from home and as ummm says, you can chat a little or a lot to anyone

yeah you can do that with msn messenger too , I didn't know Skype done it I used to fix my friends computer using msn although her msn always crashed and thats what her problem was in the 1st place if I had known Skype had that facility I would have used that (never crashes for her :) ), anyway I found an uncle a few years back using Skype so was well chuffed with that ,but I am never on it now
I use logmein for remote access of other peoples PC's

I've used it for several years both personally and for work and would absolutly vouch for it being genuine and secure (I've even used to sort a couple of ABers computers remotely :)

Yep, I've used Skype for about 2/3 years now, to play WoW with, along with Ventrillo, but you have to pay for that one.

I might have missed it if you've said Bobbs, but how's your SIL?
It was all new to me and my Son in law fixed my comp last week, it was strange watching my mouse doing things while he was sorting my probs out.

Its also good to see and chat to your grand kids and for them to see you.

Whats the WoW game like boo and how do I find it?
docspock & Chuck,
When I click on your links nothing happens, could it be my PC?
Question Author

its a sore point!!
i put a thread 4ward here on the technology page about skype, a while back, didnt get much response. i´ve got numerous friends promising to get skype but havent got it yet. i´ve used it myself to phone my bro and girlfriend, but they´ve told me to stop using it, as its a crap reception. and that they can hardly hear my voice, even though their voices come across as loud and clear!!
