In september I am starting a course at college and for part of the course I need to go on a work placement, I am in the process of writing letters to various places, do I need to include my CV with the letter? Also do I send a letter and wait for a reply before sending another one (to another company) or do I just send them all at the same time?

Hi funkychicken,

Yes you should enclose a CV.  You are still applying for a job, whether paid or unpaid, so they will still want to see a copy of your CV.

I would send them all out at the same time.  From past experience, it is quite difficult to come by a good work placement, so it would be best to send out your letters to a number of placements and then take which offer comes first or which sounds the most beneficial.

Good Luck.

I would suggest in your cv to include examples to back up some of your statements, for instance, if you state that you are able to work as a team,.include an example, like a team sport you did at school, or a joint project you did.  If you say you are good with people, explain why you fell this, is it because you are able to communicate well with all ages and have always made friend easily?

NEVER put that your hobby is the dreaded SOCIALISING WITH FRIENDS, to an employer this means hanging around on street corners!

Good luck
