My daughter who is 15 is a quiet girl, doesnt have a social life outside of school, infact she is happy to be at home...in a nutshell, she's a good girl! My problem is that she has been getting bullied at school by 2 girls, she does answer back sometimes but not a lot, she doesnt like confrontation. However last friday these girls were starting on my daughter and her friend, my daughter told them to F off and the result was that one of these girls was going around saying she was going to stab my daughter and her friend with a pair of scissors today (Monday) one of the girls was already carrying scissors in her bag on friday. I have kept my daughter off school today and went and see the head, I told him whats been going on and demanded that these girls be searched...he searched them and they didnt have anything on them, he said they were scared, but was honest and told me that one of the girls was nothing to worry about and that her parents were very compromising, on the other hand, the other girl was a different matter, challenging and trouble and her parents were not cooperative at all, I told him I would involve the police, which he said I should do.....I dont know wether or not to do this as I dont want to make things worse, or single my daughter out, what would you do in my situation...TIA

Thanks for you answer, much appreciated x
Personally if someone did that to my kid I'd kick the s*** out of them, but then I'm from south Manchester so maybe ignore me!
I'm sure it'll all work out for you but the head seems like a twit!!
Anyway the girls were prob chattin crap if you have scissors and want to stab someone why would you wait? you'd go for it when you have the chance (oops once again my south Manchester root coming out)
xXx

SKA we have the same views, personally I would like to storm over to her and grab her orund her throat and threaten her, but seen as im trying to get a job in a school it would go against me big time, so I cant have this little idiot ruining my career.
I agree with you latter paragraph, but you can never be sure these days, thanks for your answer!

Would you phone the police?
I think you should. You could explain that you don't want to make things worse but maybe the police could call to the homes of these two b*tch*s and hopefully the police will scare the parents who in turn will step up and be responsible parents and instil some common sense and respect in their daughters, so they don't end up in prison in a few years!

Hang on - I know it's scary, but there's nothing the police CAN do until something has happened, they can't go around hassling people for what MIGHT happen, much as I'm sorry to say. The school know about the situation, and this girl obviously knows that her card is marked. An alarm is a good idea, so is self-defence classes. Tell your daughter to try and make it so that she's not alone leaving and going into classes, there's safety in numbers, or get a teacher to walk out to the car with her at leaving times. I wish you good luck
The school should have someone who is responsible for the pastoral issues of the children (Can't remember what they are called) but it's usually one of the teachers. You need to talk to them and also to the Chair of Governors. Keep it low key to start with but make it known that you don't think the Head has really given a satisfactory answer to your concerns.
These girls have threatened your daughter with a pair of scissors. They know fine well that she'll have talked to somebody about it and they have confirmation of this because the head has searched them. Should they do anything to your daughter, the blame would automatically fall on them so quite honestly I think your daughter might have to put up with some name calling but (if they have any sense) they won't touch her.
maybe im being silly but im a fifteen year old girl and it seems to me these girls are just the average bitchy bullies we get at every school, yanoe loud mouthed 'popular people' i personally think one of the girls should tell the bullies to leave them alone since getting the police involved will probably cause them more hassle at school with the bullies friends and such :/ or maybe you could go back and say ypur sick of the bullying and stuff to the teacher since i know in my school the teachers are always worrying about bullying! hope your daughters okay and ignore me if this is all irrelevant! x
this happened to my daughter a few months back and I did the same kept her off and went to the school ,it was a Friday so the school advised that I just keep an eye on things at the weekend and if she appeared to call the police ,I would have phoned the police and got them involved but nothing happened at the weekend and I took her to school on the Monday where it was all sorted out, unlike your daughter though my daughter can and will handle herself if necessary ,but was spooked on the Thursday when the lassie had said she was going to stab her (the girl in question has came to Scotland from England for exactly that reason when she actually did it) but in your case i would seek police advice!!
