Limescale around bottom of taps

How can I get rid of limescale build up around the bottom of kitchen stainless steel taps. Tried Limelite and that just took off the patterern on the work top next to them.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I saw that tip with the vinegar/lemon juice on tv on that show with Kim and Aggie - unfortunately I couldn't quite remember it and got a bit confused, so I mixed lemon juice & vinegar with baking soda into a paste and put it on - it did work, but i am sure that was supposed to be good for something else - I need to pay more attention!
