Gas hob flash bang wallop???

I have just had a new gas hob fitted and it scares me to death when I switch it off.

I've never had a gas cooker before so don't know what to expect.

Everytime I have used the hob and turn any of the burners off they pop / bang really loud and sometimes it's like a mini explosion - is this normal?

No.  Ask the supplier's or manufacturer's customer help line.

I agree!  As fun as it might be (and it does sound fun !!), it appears as though your hob has been set up by a pyromaniacal chemistry lab technician... [Hoo Haa Haa Haa Haa]
