I have no other information regarding him. If anyone can tell my next move I would be very grateful

1941 isn't 80 years ago. Just thought I'd point that out.

I'm sorry.
They didn't say he died 80 years ago, they said he was aged 80 when he died!
have you tried genes reunited, facebook, 192.com

count, dont want to have to correct you but you need to re-read the paragraph..
oh you did.. excellent :)
there are quite a few james carneys according to ancestry, he may not be alive now as he was obviously an adult when his father died, 1 close link on ancestry

Name: James Carney
Birth: 9 Jan 1912
Death: Nov 2004 - Coventry, Warwickshire, England
It would be an idea to ring Mortlake cemetary and ask for a search for a grave for James Carney snr and see if anyone else is in it, more than likely that's where he would be buried,

I agree with Dot. Here's why: I have had a quick look at possible births for James senior and there are 10 in England and Wales about 1861. Looking in the 1871 Census, there are 10 James Carneys but I don't think they are the same 10. As an aside, 8 of them are of Irish descent, and in Liverpool or Birmingham where there were many immigrants at this time. Nowhere near Twickenham. Looking in 1881, more James Carneys born in the same year but in Ireland made an appearance, so the task of selecting one is vast.
For an 1861 birth, you might expect a first marriage 1881 - 1891. The Irish had a convention in naming offspring, so James junior may not have been the first-born. and then, of course, there is the possibility of bereavement and subsequent marriage...
So all this means that James junior could have been born anytime from about 1881 to the 1912 birth that Cazzz1975 found.

Thank you all for your replies
do you have a copy og the death certificate ?

that would give an address and the name of who reported the death. also probably the occupation of the deceased, his address, and spouse details.
from that we can get quite a lot of info from ancestry for you
