Facts you really should know....

Considering I have lived in Northampton most of my life and most of my adult life I have lived a very short walk from the park. I found out yesterday that the manor house in the park lived Shakespeare's granddaughter, Elizabeth Bernard, who is buried in the nearby church.

Interesting....but how did I not know that?

Any interesting facts anyone found out recently?

I learnt at lunch what alvin stardust looks like. I have read about him over the years etc but never seen what he actually looks like. Nothing like what I was expecting.

I learned last week that my gran made Spitfires during the war.

You'd think she would have mentioned it before but just casually dropped it into conversation when we were looking at the one in Kelvingrove

most ladies during the war worked in warehouses making machinery because the blokes were out fighting

Yes, I was aware of that 4getmenot, I'm not quite that daft.
It's just that Spitfires are quite an iconic machine and none of us knew that gran had been involved in their making.

Sorry. when my nan died I was amazed at some of the things people said about her life and what she had done through the years.
