Purchasing an online service

Hi there - I recently joined a company online that offered help to me with my childcare business and the endless for filling in! It offered me a package that I was to complete daily that would sum up all the paperwork thus making my life easier.
However when I subscribed almost immediately upon gaining full access to the site I realised it was not suited to me, the site was complicated and not useful to me.

I wrote a letter there and then and sent a copy direct the following day.
I heard nothing so I then emailed the company, again heard nothing so resent the email and cancel my reoccuring payment. I finally had a reply to my third email three weeks after my first cancellation notice.

The company claims it has no previous emails/letters and if I don not re-instate my continuous payment then they will take me to court.

I have copies of all my letter/emails.

Please advise as I thought I had a 7 day cooling off period? It is a year subscription.

i don't think you have a leg to stand on. Did they solicit your business or did you go to them?
I'm not sure that every contract has a cooling off period - what is in their terms and conditions.
What is to prevent you from signing up, copying their paperwork, then asking to get out of the contract?

I seen on TV that internet transactions have a 7 day cooling off period. Not sure if it applies to all types of businesses though.

I'd just ring the trading standards people, they should be able to help you. Make sure you have a copy of all your emails. Did you send the letter by recorded delivery? Sadly many of these companies go down the 'I didn't receive your letter/email route'. I wish you lots of luck.

did you send Recored Delivery by post if so you have proof that you sent.
