Head AMp Vs Cab
5 Answers
Dear All,
I just wondered if someone could tell me the difference between a "head" for a guitar amp and the Cab.
As I understand it the head is the actual amplification device and the cab is the speaker?
If you were to have a head, but no cab, would you be able to play through this by itself? or does it depend on the model etc?
I am looking for a small home/practice amp, and I thought this may be one option which allows me to scale if required.
Currently looking at the Danelectro Nifty Fifty and the smaller Orange Amp. Anyone have any experience with these?

No, none of those - they're all head amps.
This one, for example, is a combo amp -
