TV actress with red hair

Last night I saw a woman who I know is an actress on British TV but I cant for the life of me remember what she was in. Im pretty sure it was something like Brookside, Corrie or The Bill. She is slim aged 40's-50's with red, curly mid length hair. She is either northern or a scouser. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help but I know its not Melanie Hill. I'll try and find a photo of the random name and see if its her. She's the sort of actress that pops up in things but you only ever know her as "thats her that used to be in......"
