At the back of my house all the bricks look manky... so I'm painting half of the wall cream (the back doors on the same wall). I'm then going to paint the fence panels dark brown and the concrete posts cream. i cant decide on a colour to paint the back door. White will make the cream look dirty, blacks to bold, browns to much. I like the idea of a royal blue or green but don't think it will go..... does anyone have any suggestions? cheers
I would go for a green...but not a bright or 'grassy' shade. Instead, opt for a dark sage or an olive-y colour.
Also...are you actually PAINTING the fence panels?...or using an appropriate wood treatment or stain? Paint will not wear well on fencing.
If you match whatever paint you choose to a big pottery planter and put it by the door it will look a lot more balanced, If you have red brick above the paint you might be better to keep to a warmer tone, Scary as it sounds a deep burnt orange would look stunning with cream and dark brown as would a deep teal
Check out Fir Green. A traditional old colour, not bright.
Get 1L mixed in Dulux Weathershield water-based satin.
Lovely finish and lasts very well.
Several of my customers like it and have on doors and iron gates.
thanks..... like the sound of the burnt orange its different..... i was thinking the same thing myself but just couldn't picture the colour. now all i have to do is hunt down the colour, wish me luck
